What Shall We Do Now?

Yes, no one wants to do that. But in this story, Earth Commander wanted to do it.
From this book we know that three hundred years ago, Earth nearly dead, it stopped dying because of the artificial ozone layer. But it was breaking up. Kiah, Rilla, Captain Seru, Commander Zadak would like to talk to Gog, Earth Commander about this terrible affair, but Gog is a selfish man, he did not help them. He was going to destroy Earth! What a crazy person he is! But…
I was always dreamed that I lived in a beautiful town when I was a child. There were many beautiful flowers and trees around the town. Birds were singing and dancing. People enjoy the fresh air. How I wish that it would be come true! But it’s only a dream.
In real life we can see these situations: Many people throw waste things everywhere. The chimneys of the factories puff dense smoke into the air. In summer, some people have sunstroke because of the high temperature. More and more waste water is being poured into rivers… Scientists didn’t work out more any better ways to reduce environmental pollution at present. But if we aren’t trying to improve these situations now, in the end Earth will be a completely silent world, like Earth in this story. We’ll destroy Earth and ourselves. Even if we will be able to build a wonderful Moon colony in the future, how can’t we be sorry for our common homeland?
There is a well-known question: What shall we do now so that we can help in the terrible situations? We should not to be “Earth Commander”： A selfish person will be certain to be unwelcome. Nobody would like to get along with him except bad people.
Do not say “Let others protect environment, it is none of my business.” It’s very wrong. Everybody must make an effort to reduce pollution. You don’t want to do, I don’t want to do, who’ll do it? Besides some good ways the teachers have told us such as irrigating flowers with water used to wash rice, I thought of some ideas about environmental protection:
1. Lots of students use gel ink pens to write, and when they run out, we have to buy new ones. We waste a lot. So why don’t we buy new refills to replace the old refills? Less expensive and less wasteful.
2. We need some scratch papers for us to do maths exercises. Many of us write with pen. In my opinion, write with pencil is better. We can rub the handwriting after writing the whole paper. In this way, we can save much paper.
3. Learn to be “poor”。 Don’t always put the air-conditioning on in winter or summer. Wash clothes without washing machine.
4. Poly bags can be plastic bags of rubbish.
5. Practice to draw pictures or write on the old newspapers. To correct the bad habit——waste paper.
6. Turn of the lights before leaving the classroom.

During the summer holidays, the school organizes us an interesting, useful activity named “The Master of Energy-saving”。 All the students took part in this activity. By hard work, water charges, electricity charges of my family were reduce much. So were all of my classmates!
Taking care of our environment is our duty. How can we destroy this beautiful planet? I make an urgent appeal that everyone should have a strong sense of preserving environment and start from the little things right under our noses.
We should learn from some good people in the story to improve ourselves, too. And to become an upright person. Finally, I wish Kaih, Rilla, Captain Seru, Commander Zadak will defeat Earth Commander Gog, let the colorful flowers, high trees, lovely animals, flesh air… back to Earth. Good luck!
